Carters Quilt

So, my mother in law came down tonight and brought Carters quilt with her. Its not completely done, still needs a back and needs to be quilted. But its almost done. Cant wait!

Its been awhile!

So, Its been a while since I've blogged. Not much has gone on. We have just been staying home cuz its way to hot outside. I went on Wednesday with my mother in law to look for fabric for Carters quilt. We found some! I have posted a pic below. She has already started working on the quilt. I cant wait. Now I need get going and get the room together!

Wore Out!

So I told Cody I wanted to get up early today and edge the front yard. Well, it didnt quite work out that way. Kennedy and I ended up staying in bed until 11:30. It was so nice. I love sleeping in, but then I feel that the day is gone. So, Cody didnt think I would do anything today but I did. I got up and went straight outside and started edging. I think it makes the yard look so much better. It wasnt that bad with the heat because the wind was blowing. But I took several breaks. I dont really mind yard work. It gives me exersice. I dont get much of that these days. So Cody usually mows unless I just want to and he does the weedeating and I edge. He doesnt like the edger. And when it hasnt been done in a while, its kinda hard. We will mow either tonight or in the morning and then our yard will look pretty good.
We have our last day of VBS tonight. We have been going this week to my moms church. It has been pretty cool. Its supposed to be age 5 and up but they made an exception for miss Kennedy. She has actually done really good. She is better than some of the older kids. So we are off to that in a little bit.....

DINO WORLD!!!!

So today we went to Dinosaur World in Glen Rose. The kids had a blast. It was so HOTT HOTT HOTT!!!! The wind was blowing a little bit but it was still hot. We walked through and saw all the cool dinos and then the kids got to do a fossil dig. There was a play ground but it was to hot. Kennedy wanted to slide but the slide was hot. So we went to the state park and got in the river. It felt so good. Cody fished a little and me and the kids swam. They loved the river. Here are some pics!
Also, Jackson got a new hair cut. He has a mohawk! It looks so cute!

I have a Car!

We went yesterday to pick up the car. I was so happy. So were the kids. We actually have room again! But I was told that I cant take it outside of the DFW metroplex for 30 days. There is a 45 day warranty on the engine and we dont want anything to happen and me be out of town. So my houston trip got x-ed. Cuz in 30 days I will be too close to the "Big Day" and I dont want to go into labor in Houston. Oh well. We will find stuff to do here. We are going to take the kids to hurricane harbor. They loved it last year and this year they are taller. So I know they will have a blast.
We are on our 3rd day of summer. We havent done much. We went swimming Monday. I'm sure we will be doing that a lot this summer. Yesterday we picked up the car and went to Mesquite to see Cody's mom. We went to look at fabric for Carters quilt. I saw some I liked but I want to keep looking. We went to Bass Pro while we were out. Jackson loved that store. He had so much fun. Him and Kennedy found several boats that they liked. Maybe one day......

News on the car.......

So we heard about the car today. The guy went today and picked up the engine. So hopefully it will be ready by Monday. But I guess that means no Houston trip this weekend. But if we get it Monday or so then we will probably go to Houston Tuesday or Wednesday. So I am still gonna get my Houston trip in.... Just not this weekend. Thats ok though.

So Jacksons graduation from his "big school" as he calls it is tonight. He is excited. He looks so big in his cap and gown. I will post pics later.
He had his field day today. He had so much fun. They had all different games for them to play and water activies. Kennedy got to go and she had fun too. Pics will come later.

Summer Time!!!

So its seems like its been forever since I've blogged. I guess it has. Not much has been going on. Just hanging out, waiting for Jackson to get out of school. They go so long now. He doesnt get out until June 5th. Thats crazy! At least we are down to the last week. I cant wait for summer to really begin. We are hopefully going to Houston this weekend but thats still up in the air. I really need a car to go down there I guess.... I could take Cody's truck and leave him a week without a car but that wouldnt be too nice. Hopefully mine will be done by the end of this week. I havent had it since March, March 4th to be exact! I'm not sure I'm gonna remember how to drive it. We found out last week that it now needs a new engine. Its all crazy. I'm so fed up with it. But now its at Cody's dads mechanic shop and they say hes pretty good. Steve said that he fixes all their work vans when they need it so he trusts him. So when he finds an engine, we should get it back shortly after. I guess hes trying to find an engine cheap. I hope so at least. Steve told us not to worry about it, that he would take care of the $$$$ part. I was so greatful. We dont have a couple thousand just laying around for stuff like this. We would be up a creek without him.
So enough about that. Back to summer time! We are going to be lazy this summer. We are going to hang out by the pool pretty much every day. Jackson is being brave. He is starting to swim without his arm floaties. He was just getting in the hot tub without them at first, but yesterday he got in the big pool without them. Hes getting so big. They cant wait to go to the beach. I promised them i would take them this summer, so we were going to go to galveston while we were in Houston. They say they have cleaned it up real well since the Hurricane. I love the beach. Well, thats really all for now. We are fixing to go swimming again. Hopefully I will get a good tan this year. Except for the belly I guess. Its still gonna be pretty white!
